Physical Therapy

Physical Therapy is scientific-based form of healthcare for the assessment, treatment and management of musculoskeletal problems by Physical Therapists with a Bachelor of Applied Science. Because we take time to fully asses and treat you, appointments take approximately 45-60 minutes and only one client is treated at a time.

In our treatments we use the following to help get you get quickly back to your activities:

  • Soft tissue and massage techniques to ease out tender knots called trigger points in the muscles, and to stretch Back_Pain_Physical_Therapytightened structures. We work not only on muscle, but also work on the connective tissue called fashia surround the muscles, tendons and ligaments

  • Gentle moblisations are applied to realign joints that may be out of place

  • We use stretching techniques to stretch out tight muscles and joints to help rebalance and align the body

  • Low level laser therapy and Dry Needling are used in combination with hands on techniques

  • If you require orthotics we can refer you to an expert to help align the body from the feet up. When on your feet, your foot and arch position can affect the alignment of your whole body and can be a contributor to problems at the ankles, knees, hips and back.

  • We prescribe exercises to address any muscle imbalances (weakness or tightness) or lack of flexibility. We also give advice on posture,and the ergonomics of your working or recreational enviornment

  • Where relevent we use Kinesio tape, a flexible tape, that can support muscles and joints and assist recovery from injury.
